9 Tips To Save Money – Manage My Money
There are many easy ways to save cash when dealing with personal finance basics. Some are a little more time consuming than others but despite that fact it’s well worth the time it might take. If you only follow 1 or 2 of these tips you could save hundreds of dollars each month.
Check out the subsequent 9 tips to save money
REQUEST FREE SAMPLES:
There are plenty of websites that offer free samples on every day products. Even the big companies such as Wal Mart or Home Depot have excellent opportunities for you and I to get free items. These items often include skin lotions and shampoos to frozen food or bathroom products. Another option is to visit a manufacturer’s website to find those free samples on newly released items. If you need something, type the words ‘free sample’ into google before you visit the store to purchase it. This is the beginning of learning personal finance basics.
CHANGE CREDIT CARD SPENDING AND HABITS:
Credit cards can be wonderful but also hazardous. With those high interest rates and monthly fees, credit cards may end up costing you more down the road than you expected.
Things I keep in mind:
– always use cash unless its for a major purchase
– always make sure you can afford the item before you use a credit card
– be sure you can pay the balance of your credit card
AVOID IMPULSE BUYS:
Everyone has had to push a shopping cart through the grocery store and when we arrive at the cashier we have twice as much as we planned to buy. Always, always, always create a shopping list, go by it and never buy anything that isn’t on that list. This should include any type of shopping like clothes, food or movies or CD’s. Retail outlets are mapped out specifically for impulse buys with candy racks and chocolate bars within easy reach. Make your list, check it twice, and follow it.
SHOP THE SALE RACK:
This is another personal finance basics rule but keep in mind this isn’t necessarily an impulse buy. If you made your list and know that you need a pair of pants and a shirt check the sale display before you shop. It’s pretty likely you might find that said item on sale and pay far less than the usual price. Grocery stores operate the same way. They usually over order products and sometimes run unadvertised specials on overstock items. Just be sure the product is on your list.
SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY:
This is sometimes the most difficult thing to do when cash is tight, but it is the most important of these steps. According to a book I’ve read ‘The Wealthy Barber’ you must save 10% of your paycheck every month. That may not sound like a lot but it does add up very fast and if wisely invested it will go a long way towards your retirement plans in the future.
