In this amazing trick, you happen to have X-Ray eyes and can right away tell what any card is when it is face down on the table.

How It Appears To The Audience.

The Magician asks a spectator to shuffle a deck of cards and give them back to him. The Magician then spreads the cards face down on the table. The Magician asks the spectator that he has X-Ray eyes and can tell what any card is, even though they are face down.

The Magician then starts naming five or six cards and puts the cards in a deck. When the spectator checks the pile, he discovers that the Magician has named all the cards properly.

The trick can be done with any deck of cards.

Secret Behind The Trick.

Ask a viewer to shuffle the deck and return it back to you, when he is satisfied they are thoroughly mixed. However, when you get the deck back from him, secretly look at the bottom card of the deck and remember it.

Tell the viewer that you have X-Ray eyes and can tell what any card is, even if it is face down. Tell him you will show it and spread the deck, face down on the table. Though, when you are doing this, secretly remember the position of the bottom card of the deck, which you have remembered.

Ask the viewer to write down the names of any cards you identify by writing them down, so he can verify them later. Then ask the viewer to point to any card on the table and say it is the card you have remembered. Then place this card face down, to one side. Do not allow the spectator see it. Though, as you are doing this, memorize that card.

Then have the spectator select any other card on the table and say the name of the second card you have memorized. Put it face down on top of the first card. Though, one more time, as you are doing so, memorize this card.

Point to a third card and say the name of the second one. Remember it and place it face down on top of the other two cards. Continue doing this for 5 or 6 cards, then tell the spectator you will pick one for yourself. Say the name of the last card you have remembered and point to the bottom card of the pile, the position of which you remembered at the beginning.

Take this card and put it face down, UNDER the other cards in the deck of cards, so it is at the bottom of the deck. Give the deck of cards to the spectator and ask him to check the cards with the list of cards he has written down.

He will be astonished to discover that every one matches and you do certainly have X-Ray vision.
